Images for Inspiration

I gathered several images earlier in my project that helped me to develop both my character’s and the universe they live in. I like to use a mixture of sources to get my inspiration, here are just a few personal images that I used to help springboard ideas.

Magic Roundabout

Another classic tv series that I loved, I wanted to create that hand crafted aesthetic through my character’s and my intended animation.

Hand Sewn Dolls

I was meaning to put these up a while ago… here are some interesting hand sewn dolls that I really like. They all have unique style and ways of making.

I’m not quite sure about the grey furry things, but I just really like the detial of the face. It is easier to see larger here

The eyes are cleverly done with some sort on identation and a seperate layer of fabric.

Veruka Dolls

These are all hand sewn dolls… all unique. I like the large eyes.

I really like this doll, the shapes used, the colours, everything. Really nice.

Making the Lion

I have been gathering several images to help me build an accurate body for the lion. It isn’t essential that the lion looks in proportion as the character’s all have large heads which is their main characteristic that makes them distinctive.

I have decided to design the lion so he can stand and sit. I am building him around standing so I can ensure the legs are correct and the body is in line. I intend to run a piece of wire along the spine so that the back can be sculpted to make the lion sit down.

Daisy and Harry

It has been a struggle but I have finally managed to finish the characters Harry and Daisy… here is how they turned out.

Series Name

I have been coming up with a few idea’s for the tv series that works well and is straight to the point.

I have fleshed out an idea I had in mind for the title ‘Sibling’s’. I want to keep both the look of the characters, the animation and the merchandise the same. I work best doing hand made work rather than computer based when it comes to typefaces, so I had an idea of making the title from fabric of plasticene. Here is how it turned out…

This is made from plasticene, a quick trial to see how it looked… I quite like the end visual, however I am not sure on the name now. It is an easy way to create the letters.
